not now; I shall behold him, but not nigh; there shall 
come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise 
out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, 
and destroy all the children of Sheth. And Edom 
shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession 
for his [Edom’s] enemies; and Israel [spiritual Is- 
rael, of which Christ Jesus is Head] shall do valiantly. 
Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, 
and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.” 
—Num, 24: 17-19. 
17%n proof further corroborating the above is the 
prophecy of Amos, which is quoted at Acts 15: 14-18, 
The Lord by his prophet Amos said: ‘‘In that day 
will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, 
and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise 
up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: 
that they [The Christ] may possess the remnant of 
Edom, and of all the heathen, which are ealled by my 
name, saith the Lord that docth this.’? (Amos 9: 
11, 12) This verse, according to another translator, 
reads: ‘‘That they on whom my name hath been called 
{that is, Jehovah’s scrvant class, upon whom he be- 
stows his name, and of which Christ Jesus is the 
Head] may take possession of the residue of Edom 
and of all the nations {the nations that are anti-God 
and anti-Kingdom], declarcth Jehovah, who exceuteth 
this.’’—otherham., 
48 The time when this prophecy is fulfilled is defi- 
nitely fixed, and the proof shows that it takes place 
after Christ Jesus is enthroned and begins his reign. 
“God at the first did visit the Gentiles [nations], to 
take out of them a pcople for his name,’’ says the 
apostle, quoting from the prophecy. This work of tak- 
ing out a people for his name is not completed until 
the coming of the Lord Jesus to the temple and the 
gathering unto himself of those who form the royal 
house. ‘‘And to this agree the words of the prophets 
[particularly Amos and Obadiah]: as it is written, 
After this I will return, and will build again the taber- 
nacle of David.’’—Acts 15: 14-16. 
+ The taking possession of Edom, which means the 
ousting of the modern Edomites, the Roman Catholie 
Hierarchy and their allicd clergy, takes place when 
the Lord is at the temple for judgment and after he 
brings unto himself the temple company. The taking 
possession of the modern Edomites by the Lord Jesus 
Christ was foreshadowed when King David brought 
Edom into subjection to the typical kingdom of God. 
The taking possession of the Edomites and all nations 
means the breaking of them in picces, as stated by 
the psalmist: ‘‘ Ask of me, and I shall give thee the 
heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts 
of the carth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them 
with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces 
like a potter’s vessel.’? (Ps. 2: 8, 9) The modern Edom- 
ites have exercised powcr over many peoples of the 
earth, but all of those who forsake that wicked organi- 
zation and turn to the Lord and seck rightcousness

and meckness will come under the influence, power 
and control of God’s kingdom under Christ Jesus, the 
Greater David, and will be in line for the blessings 
which Jehovah promises through Abraham. 
20 All the nations must bow down and become sub- 
ject to Christ, and only the obedient shall live. There- 
fore says the prophet: ‘‘And they of the plain flow- 
land (#.V.)] {shall possess the land of] the Philis- 
tines.’’ They of the plain or Jowland, called Shephelah 
(Hebrew), are the spiritual Israelites, the children of 
Jacob. That country of the ancient Israclites after the 
flesh was contiguous with the country of the Philis- 
tines and was subdued by David. (2 Sam. 8: 11, 12) 
‘The plain,’’ or maritime slopes of Philistia, merged 
into the plain of Sharon on the north. Speaking pro- 
phetically of the spiritual seed of Jacob, the Lord 
says: ‘‘And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, 
and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains; and 
mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall 
dwell there. And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and 
the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lic down 
in, for my people that have sought me.’’—Isa. 65: 
9, 10. 
21 The Philistines were allies of Edom, and both of 
these peoples are employed in the propheey to fore- 
tell the Roman Catholie Hierarchy and those other 
clergy who walk with the Hicrarehy in this day. Je- 
hovah by his prophet declares his purpose to destroy 
all those enemies: ‘‘and the coast shall be for the 
remnant of the house of Judah.’? (Zeph. 2: 4-7) It 
is thus made elearly to appear by the Word of the 
Lord that the Roman Catholic Tierarehy and all 
allicd clergy guilty of persceuting and vexing God’s 
people shall be completely dispossessed. This will mark 
the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham, to wit: 
“That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplving 
I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, 
and as the sand whieh is upon the sea shore; and thy 
seed shall possess the gate of his enemics.’’—-CGen. 
22: 17. 
22 Concerning others of the royal house the prophet 
Obadiah says: ‘‘And they [the rest of Judah, the 
royal tribe] shall possess the field of Ephraim, and 
the fields of Samaria.’’ In the type that would take 
in the territory of the ten tribes of Israel, who seceded 
from Judah after the son of Solomon ascended the 
throne of the twelve fribes. That would mean that the 
Ephraimite and the Samaritan hybrids, who after- 
wards occupied that territory, must be cleared out or 
willingly come under God’s kingdom through his roy- 
al Son Christ Jesus. All the territory promised to the 
seed of Abraham, according to the covenant, must 
come under the rule of Christ Jesus. This is also 
shown by the propheey which reads: ‘Incline your 
ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall 
live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with 
you, even the sure mercies of David. Behold, I have
